Hot water flowing through copper pipes often causes expansion and contraction. The sound can be annoying. Try purchasing adhesive-backed felt from your nearest home improvement store. With a screw driver or gun, remove the copper fastener, wrap the pipe with felt and screw the hanger in tightly around the felt. Enjoy the sound of silence.
